    Part of the reason Apple has done so remarkably well for years now? Sure. However it is also mostly the reason Apple still only had 5% of that market.

    Oh, you have an honest streak. I like that. ;)

    It will be either one of two things:

    1 - ONLY the iTMS Movie Store and perhaps updated Nanos;

    2 - The BIG ONE, the EARTHQUAKE we've been all waiting for...

    2a - iTMS Movie Store;
    2b - updated Nanos and iPods;
    2c - 23" iMac Special DVR Edition with Merom;
    2d - Wireless music sharing device for the Nanos as shown by the FCC filing;
    2e - Updated MBs and MBPs.

    Oh boy...better burn my credit card... ;)

    The planets are aligning.This IS the big one!

    My take on this: Apple releases new MBP's next week and Aperture 2 at the special event. Kind of like they did with the iMac vs the movie downloads.

    Btw, the 24th is a Sunday ... has Apple ever released anything on a Sunday? Or held an event?

    Shooting to maim is a myth.

    Anybody who's undergone firearms training for self defense (or law enforcement) is trained to remove the threat. Shooting to "maim" doesn't remove the threat. You try to shoot a guy in the leg and it presents two problems:

    1. The leg is a narrow target, easy to miss
    2. The guy can still shoot back with his now hurting leg

    Handgun users (either for private use or professional use) are taught to shoot center mass. The head shot was most likely a stray round and not intentionally. This guy was probably aiming center mass.

    In Europe they are running out of space and they do not want to see all the nasty stuff end up in their eco system. Europe has said if you can not recycle it, you have to take it back.

    Then goes here:

    http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/html/nationworld/2002920133_ewaste09.html

    Anyway, the real problem is the debt-money system that demands ever cheaper throwaway products, evermore cheaplabour, evermore GDP growth regrdless of impact on quality of life, evermore downsizing, evermore sloppy enironmental protections as the globe suffers under continual insolvency.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Grip-Death-Slavery-Destructive-Economics/dp/1897766408/sr=8-1/qid=1161964407/ref=sr_1_1/202-0351376-3343053?ie=UTF8&s=books

    We don't have to live in mudhuts, but we DO need to stop throwing away PCs, iPods, mobile phones, etc. as if they're apple cores, no pun intended.

    Let me see... wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya... high unemployment in the USA. Cost of energy is killing the average guy in the pocketbook. I know... lets spend our time getting those terrible DUI apps out of the app store... that way we can tell our Constituents what a great job we are doing representing them in Washington.

    PS

    In that case I would love to know what happened to other half-dozen or so companies that handed out leaflets outside of their allotted "zone", or the chaps that went around spotting people who had red badges on, and handing out free USB Flash-drives to whoever they found! :D

    Ok, granted, I wasn't there, so I was basing my comments on tech conferences I've attended here in the States. But those people were probably violating their terms of contract as well, and maybe MacExpo had less tolerance for GreenPeace because they had already been forewarned not to use their normal sidewalk tactics at the Convention (especially considering GreenPeace probably received their space pro-bono and thus should be expected to even more scrupulously adhere to the rules).

    Because I am going to. I'm a completely safe driver (even when doing 90 or above) until I run into some dunderhead who has to enforce the speed limit themselves. Had that woman just moved like everyone else did, I would have never had to cut her off in order to punish her. And yes I did have to punish her, because she needed to be taught her dang place on the road.

    -Don

    There's no such thing as being safe driving 25 above the limit. I'm not the type of person to slow people down, because that's not my business, but I am the type of person to laugh at someone who whizzes past me, then I pass 5 miles later getting written up. Just wait until your first ticket or accident, you'll reconsider your driving habits.

    Even if McAfee tried making an antivirus app for iOS devices, App Store mods would most likely just decline it anyway, and besides, apps don't have much access to the device anyway. It could probably scan its own folder and that's it.

    McAfee's response: "But...but... users NEED it! The viruses are EVERYWHERE"

    What users NEED is Angry Birds 2

    I'm sure this has been addressed but I'm tired/wiped to read the whole thread. What about the quality of the music? If one song is stored that all users stream from, is it lossless?

    Someone mentioned only having 5 authorized systems for your media. I recall a few years back that Jobs, et al stated/supported burning your iTunes media to a CD-RW then re-importing it back into iTunes, stripping any copy protection. There were scripts that ran automatically, re-writing to the same disc until the selected songs were done.

    Personally, I like my media on my system and iDevice(s). I don't need all of my music on my iPhone, and I have an iPod classic 60GB in my Infiniti with all my music connected via USB. I'm more interested in MobileMe revamping.

    Miles you make a great point... You also confirm that Apple better pull them, its a pointless app because if your so drunk then you can't operate a phone let alone an app.

    Who said this app was exclusively for drunks avoiding the cops? I have never been, nor ever plan to be, drunk, but I'd choose to avoid the cops just because I dislike the stress of driving anywhere near them.

    Do a poll macrumors.... Us 6 want them pulled Now!!... the others not quoted want them to stay on the App Store for no real good or beneficial reason

    You quoted four people, plus yourself makes five, not 6. You therefore have discredited all of your posts on account of your inability to count correctly.

    If Blu-Ray was going to happen it would've been in the refresh of 2011 MBP's. I can't imagine the optical drive being around much longer in anything other than the Mac Pro.

    Now there's 100GB BDXL. There's plenty of time for Blu-Ray to keep on living on notebooks.

    Just picked up a 3.4GHz i7 with 8GB of RAM from the Apple Store. I took it home and installed a 256GB SSD to replace the hard drive inside. Installing the OS now. I'll post Geekbench numbers soon.

    Of course that's the ideal answer but an impossible answer. So again, Google or your device/computer?

    I'd rather have Google or Apple for that matter having that information in their servers, than it being in a unencrypted file on my phone or on my computer.

    What Apple has done here is giving anyone with access to either your phone or your computer a way to track your movement. And that person would not need to either install something or deal with encrypted files. The person tracked would have no clue that it's happening.

    Once again, it's shown that when it comes to security and encryption, Apple needs to improve their game.

    But, it's great thing for jealous husbands who would want to monitor what their wives are doing.
